01Desire, libido & arousal
Low desire, elusive arousal, and orgasm changes are rarely just one thing. We look at hormones, stress, medications, nervous system, and relationship context — together.
Psychiatry, hormones & sexual health
A women's health practice that treats depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, perimenopause, and sexual health together — led by a clinician dual-certified in psychiatry and midwifery.

How I care
Mental health, hormonal transitions, and sexual well-being are deeply connected. I treat them as one conversation, not three separate appointments.
Sexual health concerns
01Low desire, elusive arousal, and orgasm changes are rarely just one thing. We look at hormones, stress, medications, nervous system, and relationship context — together.
02Dyspareunia, vaginismus, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, and medication-related sexual side effects — treated with pelvic, hormonal, and psychiatric depth.
03Postpartum, perimenopause, grief, trauma, and relationship shifts can all change how intimacy feels. Care is trauma-informed and grounded in the full picture of your life.
Mental health & hormonal transitions
07Evidence-based psychiatric care for women — including PMDD, postpartum mood changes, and bipolar spectrum symptoms — without losing sight of hormones or intimacy.
08Trauma-informed, structured treatment for intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and the aftereffects of trauma, with a clinician who understands women's health context.
09Comprehensive care for the menopause transition: mood shifts, sleep, cognition, hot flashes, HRT evaluation, and the sexual changes that often accompany them.
The four lenses
01
Anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and PMDD are treated with psychiatric depth, never as an afterthought to physical care.
02
Cycle, perimenopause, postpartum, thyroid, and HRT — lab-guided and individualized across every stage of a woman's life.
03
Pelvic floor, GSM, pain, arousal, and sexual physiology — examined and addressed without rushing.
04
Partnership dynamics, communication, and life context — folded into the plan, with referrals when therapy is the right next step.

The approach
Initial visits run sixty minutes because sexual health stories are long, layered, and often never fully heard before. Labs are thorough, plans are collaborative, and follow-up is built in — not bolted on.
About Alison
Alison Birdsey is dually certified as a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-C) and a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) — a rare combination that lets her treat depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, perimenopause, and sexual health in a single conversation, instead of bouncing patients between specialists.
This is the practice she wished her own patients had access to: one clinician, enough time, and a plan that doesn't treat mood, hormones, and intimacy like separate problems.

Get in touch
New patients are welcome for psychiatric care, menopause and perimenopause treatment, and sexual health consultations. Visits are conducted via telehealth. Most gynecologic and sexual health visits are eligible for superbill reimbursement. Psychiatric visits are often in-network and billed through Headway, so coverage is handled more simply.
